Fee Structure

The CRMDA operates on a Fee-for-Services model. We provide research support for funded projects and as principal investigators to work with us in the grant preparation process so that our services will be included. Some granting agencies will allow investigators to include proposal preparation fees, but some will not.  In the latter case, of course, we do not charge for time invested in grant proposal development, but we expect that researchers will repay our effort by including the CRMDA analytical services in their project budgets.

Rates for consulting service are determined by the funding source of the client and the seniority level of the consultant. In the table below, we divide clients into 3 categories. Projects funded by state and federal research contracts, state funds, or other KU department funding, are represented in the first column. The second column includes not-for-profit organizations and their employees, including universities. KU Students and faculty members who "pay their own way" fall into this category.  The third column includes any corporations or private citizens who do not work for KU or other not-for-profit entities.  If there is any uncertainty about which category is appropriate, please contact the office at crmda@ku.edu or 785-864-3353.
