CRMDA Research Consulting Services
The CRMDA offers "free" open consulting for faculty and staff. For information about scheduling an appointment, please check the Open Consulting page.
We also offer more in-depth research project support in two forms.
- Research grant proposal preparation
- Statistical and computational support for execution of funded projects and contracts
The basic difference between the open consulting process and research project support is as follows. In the open consulting process, we advise researchers about what they ought to do and how they should interpret their results. In research project support, CRMDA staffers take a more active role of helping to prepare code, graphs, and write ups. During the open consulting period, we can discuss a project, but we cannot do a project. Clients who ask us to write a program or prepare a technical report are transitioned out of the open consulting process into the project consulting sphere. Another difference is that research project support involves a contractual arrangement between the researcher and the CRMDA. The details are spelled out on the project consulting page.
Many of our projects use the secure electronic data retrieval and storage system known as REDCap. There is a standard fee for the creation of REDCap accounts, the usage of which is more fully described on the REDCap page.
